8/9 Pick of the Day: Cleveland Guardians @ Minnesota Twins (Game 2) 8:10pm EST

Headed to Minnesota for Game 2 of the doubleheader between the Guardians and Twins. We are targeting Game 2 today between these two teams as we have a pitching matchup for the Guardians that we really like and at a low line of 3.5, we have to take it. This goes perfectly within our system of them giving us 3.5 for a good hitting team against a questionable pitcher. The Guardians hit LHP at .252 this year and are hitting .257 in their last 10 games with 17 HRs.

For the Twins today, we will see Louie Varland make the start. He is 0-4 on the season in his 5 starts and holds a 6.58 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP in 26.0 innings.  His last start came against the A’s where he went 4.1 allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 4 K’s. Struggles both at home and on the road. At home he’s made 3 starts and played in 4 games with a 6.35 ERA in 17.0. He's certainly had his issues this season and they have mostly come in the month of April where Varland made 4 starts. In these 4 starts in April, Varland allowing 19 runs on 27 hits, 6 home runs, and 9 walks.

We expect the bullpen for the Twins to get some work today here in Game 1, leaving the cupboard dry for Game 2. A wind blowing out to right center at 13 MPH makes this one our POTD. Take the Guardians TT here in Minnesota as we get a 3.5 total against a questionable pitcher who has had his struggled especially at home.
