It’s been hard for us to stay away from this team during this Olympics. With such a loaded roster, it’s almost unfathomable to think these guys can’t score points at a high rate. Their first 5 games (counting the 2 exhibition matches right before the Olympics), we saw a progression with this team. At first, guys were trying to find their role and get used to coming off the bench as an NBA All Star, or even not taking off their warmups. There was a lack of cohesiveness in the group as this hesitation was evident amongst the team. However, in their last two games, there has been a notable change of character as they have seen more guys contribute and the overall communication and flow on the court has improved greatly. Last game, with the Team Total the lowest it has been, the USA played their best basketball en route to a dismantling of a Brazil squad that frankly stood no chance.

This afternoon, Lebron and co will play Serbia once again, who they have faced twice in the last month. The USA won both games, 110-84 and 105-79 in the group stage most recently. With their recent offensive resurgence, we feel that this line is too low, considering they just scored 122 against Brazil in the Quaterfinals. Serbia are a much better team than Brazil, but we are willing to take a stab that our team full of future Hall of Famers and All Stars can reach a total that they have hit in every single game so far in these Olympics.
