Alright we are going to touch this stove again. After the Mets looked awful in Game 1, they brought a little more juice last night, albeit late. We got hooked on this one as they scored 3 in the 9th to win 5-3. However, we liked what we saw from them against this bad Rockies bullpen. They got plenty of hits last night, they just couldn’t finish it off for us. We once again like this matchup and the potential for runs in Denver today. Call us crazy, but this matchup fits our system and we have to take it.

In 54 At Bats against Austin Gomber, the Mets are hitting .315 which we like. They have 17 hits, 4 of which are Home Runs. They have a low strikeout rate against him which we also like to see in an environment like Denver where spin rates are lower. Gomber’s last 4 starts have seen him allow 2,3,4,4 runs, while the opposing team has scored 2,5,8,8 runs total. The 2 games that didn’t meet the 5.5 Team Total line were not in Denver, however, and were against teams that do not hit Left-handed pitchers well. The Mets hit .260 against lefties, higher than their .250 overall average, and .266 on the road.
