8/8 Milwaukee Brewers @ Atlanta Braves 12:20pm EST
Braves TT over 4.5 -115 (1u)
It’s been awhile since we backed the Braves, and rightly so as they were pretty tough to get a read on for a long time there. It seems like they have finally figured out how to play without their star, Ronald Acuña Jr., and realized they have several other very capable players.
This afternoon, we like them in this spot against the Brewers and Frankie Montas, who they have a pretty good history against. Montas makes his second start as a Brewer today. His first start came against the Nationals, where he went 5.0 innings, allowing 9 hits, 3 runs, 1 home run, 0 walks, and 5 K’s. He has faced the Braves this year already, two starts ago on July 24th when he was on the Reds and got blasted for 10 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 6 K’s. Against Montas, the Braves are hitting .333 over 54 ABs with a .379 OBP and .805 OPS. The Braves are hitting .251 at home and .245 during day games. We will be getting a pretty decent wind blowing out at about 9-10mph in this one, which could help some fly balls.
Overall, we like the Braves to get after Montas again and produce some runs here for us. This one could be a sweat, but we think there is definitely some value here for Atlanta runs.
