8/6 New York Mets @ Colorado Rockies 8:40pm EST
Mets TT over 5.5 -135 (1.5u)
Here we go again fading the Rockies pitching staff and Kyle Freeland against the New York Mets. All year, we have had success fading the Rockies pitching staff, especially at home and against teams that they have historically struggled against. In 61 plate appearances against Freeland the Mets have earned a .311 batting average and .354 OBP. They have 19 hits, 6 of which are extra base hits. With winds blowing slightly out at about 10mph and the elevation of Denver, it is hard not to like this spot for the Mets as they are hitting .249 as a team and .265 on the road. In 3 games against the Rockies this year at Citi Field, the Mets scored 7,7,5 runs.
Freeland has been much better over his last 7 starts, with 16 runs allowed, but he has only played one team that we feel is comparable to the Mets, which was the Royals. This play is just as much a fade on the Rockies bullpen (5.63 ERA and worst in the MLB) as it is a fade of Kyle Freeland and the Mets' proven success against him.
Give us 6 runs for the Mets tonight as they look to continue hitting Freeland well and get into that Rockies bullpen that has been good for a few runs almost every game.
