8/6 Boston Red Sox @ Kansas City Royals 8:10pm EST
Over 8.5 -105 (1u)
Headed back to Kansas City again tonight as we have Game 2 of this series between the Red Sox and Royals. Last night we saw a plethora of runs as we had the Royals ML in this one. Singer was awful last night for the Royals as he went 5.2 allowing 4 runs on 10 hits and the questionable Royals bullpen buckled again. Both teams combined for 14 runs and 27 hits. Tonight, we don't expect to see this same level of production, but we certainly wouldn't mind it. Tonight, it's Brayan Bello up for Red Sox and Seth Lugo for Royals. Royals hit Bello at .286 in 56 ABs with a .322 OBP. On the season, Bellow is 10-5 in 20 starts with a 5.13 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP in 107.0 innings. His last start came against the Seattle Mariners on July 31st where he went 6.1 allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, 1 home run, 2 walks, and 7 K's. Bello has now allowed a home run in 5 straight starts and we think the Royals will be able to make that 6 tonight. He last faced these Royals on July 14th where he went 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, 2 home runs, 1 walk, and 3 K's. The Royals won this game, 5-4.
Over to Seth Lugo. On the season, he is 13-5 in 23 starts with a 2.57 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP in 150.1 innings. He made his last start against the Tigers on August 1st where he went 8.0 allowed 1 run on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 3 K's. We had the Royals in this one as Lugo has been lights out against the Tigers. We don't think that is the same among all teams. This was evident against the Cubs on 7/27 where he went 6.1 allowing 6 runs on 5 hits, 1 home run, 2 walks, and 2 K's. He last faced the Red Sox on July 13th where he went 5.0 innings allowing 5 runs on 10 hits, 1 home run, 1 walk, and 6 K's. In his career, the Red Sox in 32 ABs have hit Lugo at .281 and a .303 OBP.
Take the over here in this one as we see both offenses who are smoking the ball right now to continue some hot hitting. We think this Royals bullpen is going to be very vulnerable against the Red Sox if Lugo is forced to exit early. Red Sox hitting .328 in their last 10 and Royals hitting .273.
