After the Yankees pretty much single handedly cashed out the over for us yesterday, we return to this series to begin a sustained rally for us. This game is perfect for that as we get a favorable pitching matchup here tonight.

Gavin Williams get the start for the Guardians, as he comes into this game with a 5.02 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. He has allowed 12 runs in his last 3 starts, with 5 to the Brewers and 6 to the Orioles most notably. These teams are very similar to the Yankees in terms of offensive potential. 

For New York, Gerrit Cole is making another start in his 2024 campaign. It’s been rocky to say the least. In 10 starts, he has a 4.15 ERA and 1.37 WHIP.in these starts, he has allowed 9 Home Runs and 55 hits. The Guardians lineup sees Cole well, hitting .261 over 111 At Bats. Cole has been up and down in his return this season, and has shown difficulty against good hitting teams like the Mets and Red Sox.

The Guardians over their last 10 and have really struggled and part of the reason for this is this road-trip, but we can see them turning it around here today in Yankee Stadium. They are 6-4 in their last 10 and have struggled at the plate hitting just .200 over their last 10 games and accumulating 38 runs on 66 hits. As for the Yankees, they are 5-5 in their last 10 and have hit .237 over this span, scoring 46 runs on 81 hits. 

With a wind blowing out at about 10mph in Yankee stadium, coupled with 2 struggling pitchers and some very solid offensive lineups, we feel that there is potential for runs to be scored in this game. Guardians haven’t hit the greatest on this road trip, but no better place to get going again than Yankee Stadium with a 10MPH wind blowing out. Ball will be flying in a daytime game. Williams has been better on the road than at home, but he was killed against the Brewers last game away, think the Yankees will pile on here and continue some of yesterday’s momentum.
