8/18 Kansas City Royals @ Cincinnati Reds 1:40pm EST
Over 8.5 -135 (1u)
Headed to the Great American Ballpark where we have a battle between the Royals and Reds. Brady Singer on the mound for the Royals. After an electric start to this season, he has regressed as of late, giving up 6,4,3 runs in his last 3 starts. However, two of these teams were the Twins and Red Sox, both teams that we know are capable of scoring a lot of runs. The Royals are outscoring the Reds 20-2 this series and we see them continuing their hot-hitting today against Andrew Abbott. On the season, Abbott has made 24 starts and holds a 3.59 ERA in 133.0 innings. His last start came against the Cardinals where he went 6.2 allowing 1 run on 5 hits, 2 walks, and 6 K's. Against the Marlins, he was tagged allowed 6 runs on 6 hits, 3 home runs, 3 walks, and 7 K's. With the Royals hitting the way they are at the moment, we like for them to continue today against Abbott who has shown his weaknesses.
As for the aforementioned Brady Singer, he makes start number 25 here today against the Reds. On the season, he is 98-8 with a 3.32 ERA in 135.2 innings. As previously mentioned, Singer has allowed 6, 4, and 3 runs in each of his last 3 starts and even though he has not faced the Reds this season, they have seen him in 40 ABs and are hitting him at .300 with a .364 OBP.
Wind will be blowing out of Great American Ballpark at around 14 MPH which is pretty substantial in a park that is nicknames "The Great American Smallpark". We like the over here as we see the Royals continuing some hot-hitting and for the Reds to continue to make things difficult for Singer here.
