8/11 Detroit Tigers @ San Francisco Giants 4:05pm EST
Giants TT over 4.5 -105 (1u)
This is a line that is a bit hard to ignore here as we get a Giants team that just put up a lot of runs on the Nationals’ pitching staff. We have to take their Team Total here against Keider Monterrey and the Detroit Tigers.
In his last start against the Mariners, Monteiro was actually good, going 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 run. However, we know that the Mariners are not disciplined at the plate and not a reliable offense to run a Litmus Test off of. Before that, Monteiro had given up 4,6,5,5 runs to the Royals, Twins, Blue Jays and Dodgers. While the Giants are not the same caliber of team at the plate as the Royals or Dodgers, they can hold their own and have proven their abilities as a mid range MLB team at the very least.
There is no history between Monteiro and this Giants lineup, but we do believe they can get after him in this game and score some runs. The key will be for San Francisco to get runners home when in scoring position, which we think they are capable of, after they showed the ability to do that against Washington.
Give us 5 San Francisco runs and an early exit from Monteiro and let’s cash this play by the 6th inning with no sweat broken.
