Blue Jays TT over 4.5 -120 (1u)
Osvaldo Bido is set to start for the A's, and it's been a bit of a roller coaster season for him. He hit a rough patch early on, seemed to find his groove in early July, but has struggled again as the month closed. His last outing against the Angels on July 28 saw him giving up seven runs in just 3.2 innings on six hits, including a home run, alongside four walks and six strikeouts. He showed some resilience in his next start against the Dodgers, lasting six innings and surrendering three runs.
Now, Bido faces a Toronto Blue Jays team that's quite disciplined at the plate, ranking 11th in the league with an average of 3.18 walks per game. This could spell trouble for Bido, who tends to falter when he issues free passes. Back in early June, during a more successful phase, he kept the walks down and saw better results.
Adding pressure, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is on a tear with a 21-game hitting streak, and the Jays' lineup, despite struggling with runners in scoring position last night (going 1-for-7 and leaving seven on base), is hitting well overall. It's hard to imagine them underperforming in clutch situations two days in a row, especially given they rank 15th in the league, leaving 3.38 runners in scoring position per game.
Bido’s road stats also raise concerns. Although he's only started once away from home, his appearances from the bullpen add up to a troubling 5.56 ERA, allowing nine hits and seven runs across three games.
