7/25 Pick of the Day: San Diego Padres @ Washington Nationals

7/25 Pick of the Day: San Diego Padres @ Washington Nationals 12:05pm EST

Padres TT over 4.5 -125 (2u)

It’s Patrick Corbin day and we know what that means for us, a consistent 3-4 runs. The Reds didn’t get after him like we thought his last start, but they still hit the TT with that miracle 9th. In that start, Corbin went 6.0 before getting the hook as he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, 0 walks, and 6 K's to the Cincinnati Reds. The Nats would go on to win this on 8-5 as the Nats bullpen surrendered some late runs in a comback that fell short for the Reds. Otherwise, Corbin has been pretty consistent this year in allowing hits and runs to opposing teams, especially those with a good history against him.

The Padres have actually been a little better against left-handed pitchers as of late, raising their team average to .237. Still not the best, but they have been seeing LHP better recently. Last night in Game 2 of this series, they got after a Nationals leftie for 6 runs on their way to a 12-3 win. We think we can see similar results here in this one as they are hitting .301 in 93 At Bats against Patrick Corbin. Wind is blowing out to right at like 6mph, so not a big factor, but not an issue as well. For the Padres, they currently lead the MLB with a .262 average and in the 5 games they have played the Nats this year they are 5-0 and have scored 4+ runs in each of those meetings. Padres in their last 10 games are 5-5 with a .256 team average and have outscored opponents by 19 runs during this span.

Take the Padres TT here on Patrick Corbin Day as they have a great history against Corbin, hitting .301 in 93 ABs. We think the Padres will be able to hit Corbin for a couple and finish us off in the bullpen. Happy Corbin Day to you and yours!
