We head back to this series after just missing the over 210.5 in Game 4 as it finished at 206. The game was on pace until the last 6 minutes, where the Timberwolves defense clamped down. Tonight, we get a Timberwolves team that has its back against the wall, but this time at home. We initially liked the Mavericks, but feel that there is better value here on the over. The desperation of the Timberwolves cannot be overlooked. During the regular season, they were one of the best teams in the league, and the best defensively rated team. This series against the Mavericks has been surprising as they went down 3-0 and it was not because their defense was particularly lacking. Their shot was not falling in the first three games.

In Game 4, that all turned around as the Timberwolves shot 52% from the field. They were very efficient from 3, shooting 11-24. The Mavericks will try and come out much better than they did in Game 4, as they had 12 points in the first 9 minutes of the quarter. That ultimately was the deciding factor between the over and the under in that game. We do not anticipate that the Mavericks or Timberwolves will come out like that in this game. Dallas does not want to see this game go back home, as the Timberwolves will have all the momentum. Dallas will have to come out firing and will lean on Doncic as always, and will require Kyrie Irving to not shoot 6-18 like he did in Game 4. We believe that this could be another close game that ultimately goes over as Dallas finds their shot again, and the Timberwolves are efficient from the field.
