Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks 8:00pm EST

Over 216.5 -110 (1u)

This is a line we once again have to take. The injury to OG Anunoby of the Knicks has really turned this series around, with the Pacers winning the last two games decisively. Game 4 saw the Pacers blow out the Knicks 121-89 with the Over/Under set at 218.5. Games 1 and 2 were vastly different than Games 3 and 4, as the first two games went over and the last 2 under. Thus, we have seen an adjustment of this line by the books, down from 222.5 to 216.5. We think this is a great time to buy back on the over, as the Knicks will be in their third game without Anunoby and first at home. We did not take the over in Game 3 because we wanted to see how both teams reacted in a new environment. We did take over 218.5 in game 4, which lost, however, it came close with the Knicks only shooting 33.7% from the field and all starters sitting comfortably by the 4th quarter. The Knicks shot themselves out of this game fairly early on, as they trailed 34-14 after the first quarter.

We do not anticipate this kind of poor shooting performance again by the Knicks, especially from 3, where they went 7-37 for 18.9% in Game 4. Tonight, we like the Knicks to come out with a little fire and make the shots that they usually do. Against a team like the Pacers, where we said in Game 1, “You can’t stop them, you can only hope to contain them,” a large first quarter deficit is a death sentence. If the Knicks have another first quarter like they did in Game 4, they will watch the series completely flip on them. A 2-0 lead to 3-2 deficit going back to Indiana may just bury them this postseason. We anticipate the Knicks doing everything in their power to keep this game competitive .

The Pacers are also going to do everything in their power to get this series at a 3-2 advantage for them going back home. They have consistently scored points in this series, for an average of 117.5 points per game. The Knicks have been unable to stop the Pacers from scoring points and playing fast. We knew that going into the series, which made the over so attractive. Once again, the Knicks will have to focus on scoring points tonight rather than try and play stout defense against the Pacers. We like the Knicks to have a bounce back offensive performance and for the Pacers to continue scoring at all. Give us 217 points and let’s cash this with at least minutes left in the 4th.
